A Brief History About Us
CARNM is a professional association of nurses and midwives who have voluntarily taken upon themselves to serve users of healthcare services (clients/patients) with all diligence, empathy and with integrity.Our members are professional nurses and midwives with a minimum of primary level of nursing and or midwifery education/training.
Since there are limited opportunities for specialization at the master’s and doctorate levels in the nursing and midwifery professions in the country,very few universities in the country offer specialized nursing/midwifery programs and many nurse/midwives who go for higher degrees in the country end up in allied health specialties, such as public health. The growth of these professions in our country has largely been horizontal. We have thousands of nurses at the basic level. With limited nurses and midwives at the central level of health care, decisions affecting nurses and midwives are thus taken by allied health care providers.This led us to the creation of CARNM.

Membership is open to all nurses and midwives provided you have a Certified certificate from an authorized institution
As a member, you will be able to Contributeto body knowledge of nursing and midwifery via research, workshops and also Collaborate with sister association abroad to give Cameroonian nurses/midwives a voice in international scenes
Application form obtained from the secretariat or downloaded from the website
A nursing certificate from an authorized institution, Copy of birth certificate
Copy of National Identity card or passport for international candidates

We have limited number of nurses and midwives at the central level of health care so decisions affecting nurses and midwives are thus taken by allied health care providers. Such decisions hardly touch the core of these professions.This led to the creation of CARNM
We carry out evaluation to ascertain implementation of best practices in clinicals/training institutions and also Contribute to body knowledge of nursing and midwifery via research
